Why This Year is Different: The “BUET Center” Advantage

While the date change is the headline, the real “game-changer” for students this year is the logistical arrangement.

For years, students from across Bangladesh had to travel physically to Rajshahi to sit for the RUET exam, causing immense travel fatigue and logistical nightmares. This year breaks that tradition. For the first time, the admission test will be held simultaneously at RUET and BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) centers.

This means thousands of Dhaka-based students can compete for a seat in RUET without enduring the stress of long-distance travel right before the exam. This move is expected to significantly reduce absenteeism and ensure students perform at their peak mental capacity.

Competition Stats: 19,000 Fighting for 1,200 Seats

The competition remains fierce. Against approximately 1,200 seats available in various engineering departments at RUET, only the top 19,000 eligible applicants will be given the opportunity to sit for the test.

The authorities have confirmed that apart from the date change, all other conditions regarding candidate eligibility and the selection process remain unchanged. The exam will be conducted using the MCQ method with a unified question paper across both centers.
